I don't mean to say that jobs cannot be changed by technology. Simply that the nature of our current system is that the replacement of these jobs does not result in an increase in leisure time or quality of life for the people who had those jobs.

It's so silly. Even if you fully buy into the idea that AI will be able to handle many jobs, all you have to do is look at every other invention in modern history to see that it will not result in fewer work hours, let alone /no/ work hours.

It did this to me once too. it offered to modify a file for me, something I knew was impossible, and when I said it was impossible it gave me this extremely long explanation of why it was programmed to do exactly this. And I admit I fell for it for a little bit!

I assume when most people read this they assume that the user was trying to make the AI do something it can't do, but the fun twist is that the AI probably suggested the idea itself.

The twist is of course that this effectively what AI would do to you if you used it, so this is really just cutting out the middle man.

I remember hearing people mad saying that she went "just as low as him" when she said that, suggesting with zero irony that she should be held to a higher standard than he is.
