IT'S OFFICIAL: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and New York City have formed the Northeast Public Health Collaborative.

The collaborative will issue their own vaccine recommendations and coordinate public health efforts.

The knee-jerk US response to gun violence is to assign more guys with more guns as defense. The best evidence we have shows that doesn't work. Indeed it appears that schools with armed cops have more, fatal shootings than those without. Likely because disturbed young men seek out suicide by cop.
