All the best OAP. Thanks for your posts and sorry to hear youโ€™ve had a bad time with Octopus.

For those now looking for an alternative, @myhomeenergyhub.com posts similar Agile predictions, just not as clean & clear as OAP.

Pity those arenโ€™t todayโ€™s ratesโ€ฆthe weather is as grim as the reaper down here right now.

Never stops being incredible that this is home.

The big drawback I have with flux is that Iโ€™d have to switch the outgoing tariff too, which is a pitiful 10p during the day (when I export the most)

Iโ€™ve not run the sums yet - but I canโ€™t imagine that working for me.

This is nice to see, but Iโ€™m a bit on the fence at the moment.

Now that weโ€™re in BST most of my energy is solar powered, making the day import rates less crucial.

So Iโ€™m considering switching to Flux where I could save 13p/day on the standing chargeโ€ฆbut I do like Agile (just not the SC)

I got my hands on a smart immersion heater element last year - and itโ€™s a game changer. Apart from in the winter, it only ever heats up water in the day as Iโ€™ve told it to use solar power rather than the grid.

And yeah it stays hot through to the following morning.

I find the URGHH a bit endearing, in an ironic way.

Like โ€˜Christ - itโ€™s the bloody ITV appโ€™

I agree, interior and exterior arenโ€™t for me. Feels very tacky in places

Iโ€™m guessing the weather helped. Grid demand in the day was possibly low due to the extensive spells of sunshine weโ€™ve all mostly been having over the past week.

The clouds came back for most of us yesterday, so day prices have rather quickly returned to being a bit uninspiring.

I mean down here, itโ€™s glorious - Iโ€™m in shorts in the day, but the thermals still need to come out from 6pm.

03.03.2025 17:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Could it just be one of those odd weeks where thereโ€™s enough sun and wind for renewables to keep the daytime prices in check - but itโ€™s still sub zero in places overnight leading to enough demand for gas prices stay high at night?

Starting off tomorrow night with โ‰ˆ 3p too.

On a Friday too, chefs kiss

Now this is heading in the right direction.

My lows have been constantly 1-2p higher than predictions - but Iโ€™ll happily take a 9-10p overnight low, especially with the forecast being a bit dire all day tomorrow.

20.02.2025 10:58 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Exactly the same for me. It sounds like you suffered with Scottish Power too.

Every day I see these rates, I remind myself that Iโ€™d still easily take current circumstances over being back with them.

Out of curiosity. How high are remaining Agile users prepared to go before switching?

12.02.2025 11:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Thatโ€™s disconcerting.

If it were me, Iโ€™d probably give them a call so they can look into the cause - and should certainly be able to switch tariffs for you too if needed.

Yep - you get an email a month or so in advance of you contract ending - with a choice to either opt back to Agile, or do nothing and move onto Flexible.

09.02.2025 13:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yep - but if youโ€™ve got to trip, make it a trip worth doing ๐Ÿ˜‰

01.02.2025 08:01 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Given the recent rates, Iโ€™ll take that and keep my fingers crossed for a price plunge on Monday.

23.01.2025 10:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Sheesh. Can someone have a word? Iโ€™d happily take just some sub 15p overnight lows for a few days.

19.01.2025 10:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Iโ€™m not sure I wouldโ€™ve ever considered Agile without having solar & battery to bide me over when the rates get nasty - and even then itโ€™s a bit nervy on days like these.
