Pity those aren’t today’s rates…the weather is as grim as the reaper down here right now.

The big drawback I have with flux is that I’d have to switch the outgoing tariff too, which is a pitiful 10p during the day (when I export the most)

I’ve not run the sums yet - but I can’t imagine that working for me.

This is nice to see, but I’m a bit on the fence at the moment.

Now that we’re in BST most of my energy is solar powered, making the day import rates less crucial.

So I’m considering switching to Flux where I could save 13p/day on the standing charge…but I do like Agile (just not the SC)

I got my hands on a smart immersion heater element last year - and it’s a game changer. Apart from in the winter, it only ever heats up water in the day as I’ve told it to use solar power rather than the grid.

And yeah it stays hot through to the following morning.

I find the URGHH a bit endearing, in an ironic way.

I’m guessing the weather helped. Grid demand in the day was possibly low due to the extensive spells of sunshine we’ve all mostly been having over the past week.

The clouds came back for most of us yesterday, so day prices have rather quickly returned to being a bit uninspiring.

I mean down here, it’s glorious - I’m in shorts in the day, but the thermals still need to come out from 6pm.

Could it just be one of those odd weeks where there’s enough sun and wind for renewables to keep the daytime prices in check - but it’s still sub zero in places overnight leading to enough demand for gas prices stay high at night?

Now this is heading in the right direction.

My lows have been constantly 1-2p higher than predictions - but I’ll happily take a 9-10p overnight low, especially with the forecast being a bit dire all day tomorrow.

Exactly the same for me. It sounds like you suffered with Scottish Power too.

Every day I see these rates, I remind myself that I’d still easily take current circumstances over being back with them.

If it were me, I’d probably give them a call so they can look into the cause - and should certainly be able to switch tariffs for you too if needed.

Yep - you get an email a month or so in advance of you contract ending - with a choice to either opt back to Agile, or do nothing and move onto Flexible.

Yep - but if you’ve got to trip, make it a trip worth doing 😉

Given the recent rates, I’ll take that and keep my fingers crossed for a price plunge on Monday.

Sheesh. Can someone have a word? I’d happily take just some sub 15p overnight lows for a few days.

I’m not sure I would’ve ever considered Agile without having solar & battery to bide me over when the rates get nasty - and even then it’s a bit nervy on days like these.
