Some really positive data there and also some surprises. I had no idea Colorado has such high EV & PHEV penetration. Also Nevada, wow I wouldn’t have expected that.

Absolutely agree, tying any long term agreement to the US is not sound policy at present. On top of that, US companies haven’t been able to provide an example of a successful development of modular nuclear reactors yet, so this makes it even more pie in the sky.

What do you think contributes most to the difference in $ per watt in the us? Are labor costs that much higher or land leases more costly? Interconnection que and permitting a factor? Maybe some added costs to address Nimby-ism via community outreach although I’m sure that’s a global phenomenon.

Great summary! I like how you stress the need for adaptation work as well. I’ve been thinking about this lately. As the effects begin to roll in, it’s becoming more clear that we’ll need to walk and chew gum at the same time - do both mitigation and adaptation work simultaneously.

Thank you for explaining this. I have seen these stripes and wondered what they meant, and also where they came from. Much appreciated!

Do you know why SAI won’t work? I’d love to know more. I always assumed it would be a fairly simple process, but the ramifications were what kept governments from trying it. Sounds like I need to dive into this topic a little more.

On a positive note, it was the last solution listed, which is fitting and appropriate due to H2’s limited viable use cases. #energysky

He’d be better off not doing any more executive orders at this point, and this one is truly bizarre.

Great article. I like this blueprint for climate communication going forward. I think this strategy will be very useful if it can be mastered.

Nice job. I’m assuming you replaced all your gas appliances w/ electric? I’m close. Just the clothes dryer to go but all the big items are done.

The answer to your question is so obvious that you don’t need to ask it. Which means you either don’t understand basic climate science or you are a bot or you already have an opinion on the topic and don’t β€œagree”. If these are genuine questions, then start putting in the work. Read lots of reports!

On the topic of books in this genre, I loved β€œThe Deluge” by Stephen Markley. One of my favorite Cli-fi books yet. It also incorporates the topics of wealth inequality and a rising trend towards authoritarianism. πŸ€”

This is shifting baseline syndrome all the way, and I am guilty of it too. I find myself longing for GWB back in lieu of, but do you remember the illegal and completely unjustified invasion of Iraq, a sovereign nation? It was horrific at the time, but now GWB seems mild in comparison.
