seriously. when i see famous people who can choose their roles in either terrible or morally questionable work, my first question is : don't they already have enough? if they haven't fucked up/been screwed over financially (a la nic cage), what is driving them?

every justification for the actions of israel and the IDF are identical to the justifications for hamas, and it makes me CRAZY how people refuse to see that.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

My own experience is that, between severence and administrative leave, DOGE is making taxpayers pay me for six months not to do my job. My job which helps figure out how to efficiently spend public health dollars.

With Tom Lehrer's passing, I suppose this is a moment to share the story of the prank he played on the National Security Agency, and how it went undiscovered for nearly 60 years.

Same thing happened with the Iraq War! So many savvy Responsible Adults later admitted it was a huge tragic mistake, but that somehow they were still right for supporting it when they did. Who did they still think WAS wrong, though? Those dumb filthy hippies who opposed it too early!
