Cheers Son, We're Crying Son Heung-Min leaves Tottenham as a legend after winning the Europa League.

Decided to write about Son Heung-Min’s departure and my favorite Spurs player ever. There’s too many words to put in one place but I gave it my best shot.

Agreed, he’s also been there for 7 years, so I think he’s more than just a figurehead of a well run system. Would be a good move if Levy and co can get it over the line.

My heart wanted Ange to stay, my head knew he had to go. Not an easy decision but I do think it's the right one.

No you’re good, I get this fear. I think we need serious investment this summer, we have several areas we need upgrades. I think the manager conversation is a harder one because Ange has won the flipping EL but also lost 22 games, and the other managers are certainly not sexy options.

The league form fell off hard in 2019, and he still finished 4th despite that. But we do agree that there needs to be serious investment, hopefully that happens.

He made several deep domestic cup runs during his time, he didn’t just bin them all off. He made a LC final, semifinal, two FA Cup semis, all while finishing top 5 every season.

There isn’t direct evidence of Frank doing it, though he performed well in the Championship with that grueling schedule. We also have the evidence to show Ange couldn’t. If Frank ends up our manager, he’ll either sink or swim. Pochettino didn’t have the exp either and found a way.

I’m not sure how relevant it is that the squad is behind him. I think the main thing is whatever concerns you have about how we approached this season are also going to exist next one. We’re not going to stodge it up like the EL knockouts and we’re going to be playing the football that got us 17th

Ange gave me the best days supporting the club that I have had in 18 years. That said, I think the more we are removed from the EL win, the stronger my belief is that we should sack him. There’s no projection moving forward, we basically played as a relegation level team for 2/3 of the PL season.

We're going to finish with a terrible league record, it is what it is. I'm glad we're prioritizing the EL internally and I have moved beyond caring about our performance levels, just want to win the trophy. Glad we put in such a dominant transitional game yesterday, do it again in Bodo.

I think Ange by large has been inflexible (or at least struggled to find solutions this season particularly), but when you score as early as we did, it allowed us to be more passive and force Bodo onto us. I'm not sure if that was the original plan, but it worked out and we dominated the chances.

We did not play the type of football Ange was trying to instill when he was hired here, but getting that early goal was huge as it forced Bodo to play more, and we were dangerous in transition. I think Ange is likely gone no matter the outcome of the EL, so I'm just taking the wins as they come.

I really hope Ange wins the Europa League because if not this is the worst season Spurs have had since they got relegated in the 70s.
