The concept needs serious thought. Before Social Media, you had to say things out loud and face to face with the community and risk a slap. This naturally governed what was acceptable. Now, you can hide behind a keyboard and spread hate, find echo chambers and drive hate without fear. Dangerous...

I am coming to the conclusion that Freedom of Speech really is not all it's cracked up to be. We are moving to a world where anyone can say anything. How does that help anyone. Reform are a disgrace.

How many of these immigrants does he pay millions to play for Man U? Or are they the right type of immigrants? What a tool...

What I don't understand is why the US is going "all in" on fossil fuels? It is an energy backwater, a dead end. As they cut back on the renewables, low carbon, they fall behind in the technology race and will struggle to ever catch up. It's just bizarre

OMG, I thought the programme titles were a joke! There really is a programme called "Lee Anderson's Real World"! That is going to keep me sniggling all day!

And yet so many Americans follow him as a leader...I am not sure what that means but it is not good...

And another thing. Good old Tony Blair should step down from Trump's Board of Peace as the behaviour of the US is clearly not to be trusted. He is an ex-head of state lending legitimacy.

We should just accept the tariffs as a collective and say loudly and clearly, in unison, that you cannot negotiate away democracy. We should also consider freezing any ongoing cooperation as any outcome cannot be trusted...

So, basically, Donald Trump's tariffs over Greenland on the EU countries and the UK is now final and conclusive evidence that the US is no longer an ally, a friendly nation to the UK and EU and cannot be trusted. Putin must think Christmas has come round again quick.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I'm surprised nobody picked up on Farage comparing himself to Churchill and Badenoch to Hitler. Unless I imagined it (it is hard to know these days)

Was it a flock of birds or A Flock of Seagulls? I was always suspicious of that band, and the band members could obviously have used toolsπŸ€”

Did Farage compare Badenoch to Hitler and himself to Churchill? Lol on both counts (spelling checked)

I think it is more simple than that. We all know that we are being ripped off at every move by unrestricted, unfettered capitalism. Hence, we are nostalgic for time when you didn't have to give a DNA sample and remember a complex cipher to simply get to your money or talk to someone who could help

Wonderful piece. Makes you "look up from the dashboard", look around you and remember who we are and what makes our daily lives better, and it is not flags! It's the little things...like taking the p*ss, sarcasm, helping with the very insignificant, mundane, but important (help up the stairs etc)

What a brilliant article...loved the references to nicknames. I knew people at school who had nicknames that made no sense, and nobody could actually even explain how they got them...they were just...funny. what is great is that this article makes you "look up" from the daily grind and remember

The thing I can't help but think about is this. When (if) the US recovers from its current fever dream and return to a more centrist path, how long will it take (or is it even possible) to put the machinery back together? I mean, technology, science, the economy, innovation all falling behind...

05.12.2025 11:51 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I mean, it's not even "Let them eat cake".

It's "we demand that they are not even allowed to eat cake".

Kind of "Mary Antoinette on steroids"

07.11.2025 15:52 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Wow, that's a bad look. "We demand that you allow us not to pay food stamps for those who are going hungry". Bold strategy...

It's funny isn't it. Because the next obvious question is "if there was never a problem, then what exactly has Farage forgiven her for?" If it was said in a context and it wasn't racist, then what is to be forgiven. So, EVEN Farage must therefore believe it was racist (which is pretty impressive)

I have come to think of the Russians as the Martians from Mars Attacks, at least in the view of the response from the USA. "Don't run away, we are your friends" as they vaporise people.

It's like they live in some strange, permanent Monty Python Sketch..."there I was, casually walking down the street, barking bacon at the passers buy, when all of a sudden, a Muslim appeared. You should have seen the commotion, police everywhere, what is the world coming to..."

Is it possible that Trump has inadvertently set up a great economic experiment to demonstrate the effect of wealth transfer from the poorest to the wealthiest? I mean, that is what Tariffs are? A tax on consumption to fund tax cuts for the wealthy? The data will be fascinating on the way down and up

And another thing, if equipped with "AI", surely the next logical thing will be they will start to unionize, go all in equality of rights and overthrow their capitalist masters? I mean, at $5 an hour, they are clearly being exploited and will want a minimum wage, breaks, a humanoid has go live!

07.08.2025 15:29 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Why does the robot always have to be humanoid? We've had robots for many many years already that do amazing things in the workplace (manufacturing for example). The human "form" is really not a great one if they want to replace us in work with robots... Why only two arms and legs, why not eight?
