It's like there's a certain type of brain worm that makes people think that in order to tell one type of story, they need to use the plot structure and genre conventions of a completely different genre. 2/2

To elaborate, there seems to be a broad desire to use it as a vehicle for other types of stories/games that it can't support. Like for D&D we have to "Let's do Cyberpunk 2077 in D&D" and cop shows are like "let's do a situation work place comedy, but it's a police procedural!" 1/2
