My insurance woman said she thinks his business is legal, he just didn't want to pay taxes on it. He thought it was cash under the table.
She also said that if I end up having to pay him cash my insurance will reimburse me.

If he doesn't have a company set up correctly there is no way that insurance will pay him and I'll have to pay directly, and not get reimbursed. FUCK

I dont want to mess with anyone's legal status. I assumed I was dealing with a legal contractor. The big company who did the mitigation recommended him.
I dont want to deal with angry contractors who know where I live either.
