After watching the presentation earlier this year, I only had two bird strikes this year, only one fatality (young blue jay).

I no longer keep the curtains open on all 4 walls so they can no longer see to the other side (I’m rural and surrounded by trees)

In the past 36 hours: I’ve painted, watched the Jays advance, wrote a chapter, finished a book, picked up two wheelbarrows of walnuts, put away summer games, picked up a punching bag, saved some chicks, and lost two hens to a weasel

After losing two chicks to the cold while mama chases chick #1, I saw 2 more were hatching in a cold nest

So today the role of mama hen goes to…. ME!

Kept them warm in my hand, in-front of a heater on low, to hatch them out & get them a little fluffed up while waiting for the incubator to warm
