I personally, at the moment, don't see how Dems can do that when everyone online is wrong rocking them, the media is constantly doing The Day The President Became Presidential, and the Rs are saying that Ds are gonna give your health insurance to those Mexicans you hate.

He was still polling worse in 2020 than he was in 2016, so even if there was backroom dealings, I think one can come up with a reason that's "we did this crap four years ago and his ego didn't let him get mathmatically eliminated." Sanders is notoriously hard to work with. Barney Frank hated him. He also likes to do this thing where he runs as a Dem in the primary, rejects the nom, and then runs as an Independent, so voting for any Dem nominee if they can get one would split the vote.
