I did a temping job one summer filing old medical records at Winchester Hospital. There were deceased patient records dating back to the 50s and the earliest days of the NHS. Nothing is thrown away. Plenty lost or misfiled I’m sure, but deletion or shredding very rare imo.

Re: Mandelson and Epstein. The sleaziness and grubbiness of the money thing is just so… ugh. If someone gave me £75,000 I’d still be saying thank you 20 years later. To say “I don’t recall” just betrays such a gross, cavalier attitude to wealth that sticks in the throat.

The point of suspensions (haven’t been exclusions for a while now, Ed Sec…) is more than just a sanction. It’s to provide space and time for a school to reflect on how to reintegrate the child properly and meaningfully.
