#bbcqt. I think the key learning point from the covid inquiry is to ensure we have competent leaders capable of making informed and appropriate decisions.

The BBC had a clip of Boris swearing on the Bible to tell the truth to the inquiry. As if that would/could stop his instinctive/habitual lies.

I suspect they won't be - it'll be water off a duck's back. We really have to do better in the future. We cannot keep choosing the worst people.

Thanks - this is a good step. I'm optimistic, but hoping you will reduce expectations in some other areas to create space for any new elements. It'll be good to see the back of the antiquarian Gove/Tory curriculum that set us back 150 years.

Thank you. I'm not in a position to do that today - and I guess it will be old news by next week. I will put something together for a future week as I feel that there is a developing pattern regarding political reporting at the BBC.

I was so excited when Corbyn became leader, and have met him. He's a good man. But he failed to reach certain demographics, and became a divisive character. An idealist who was not prepared to compromise, ultimately he enabled the Johnson disaster.

You are right. Maccabi - a ridiculous intervention. Two child cap - needs removing. However, the original post was about the good things that have been achieved and should be celebrated. Why can't we celebrate them, whilst also hoping for more?

No doubt Labour have made some big mistakes in the past year, but they have also achieved a fair bit. In my view Mr Polanski has some excellent ideas, but he would be significantly out of his depth as PM, and would be ignored on the World stage.

Do my words mean that I support Labour, genocide or Child Poverty? You have inferred way too much. Out of interest, which current political party will deliver on those issues in your view?
