Once I get this done, I'd like to get back into working on drawings regularly, really depends on my workload.

Just about wrapped a flatting gig that kept me busy for a couple weeks. I do have another one lined up but my goal is to FINALLY get to work on this Sonic piece I sketched out weeks ago.

It's way overdue, but I'm excited. I was burned out for several months but I'm dying to get to it now.

You should really give it a shot. Nihlus was great but the best part of the game is there are SO MANY characters you will grow to love.

I'm way too much of a coward to mess with character creator systems in games because I know that when I get into the actual gameplay and into real lighting, my character is going to have one concave cheek, a bendy straw neck, and the forehead of a beluga whale.

Not bad! I like that the director made a lot of use out of a small, contained set. It's always fun to watch someone spiral in these sort of movies.

About to watch it. I heard the director remade it, but the remake isn't as good.

I saw Crimson Peak! I remember it being right up my alley. Really liked it.

I fear at some point humanity itself is going to become a lost art. Because when the human experience isn't considered valuable anymore, what else is left?

When you jettison these experiences for the sole purposes of instantly generating an end product, there's nothing lost or gained to get there. There's no connection, no evolution. Just empty words mimicking entire lifetimes of experience.

Growth is an integral part of being human. Physical, psychological, cultural. Growth is required for humanity to improve, but the end goal requires the journey taken to get there, along with all the emotions experienced along the way. Joy, pain, sadness, grief, excitement.

Creating art is the same.

And here's the thing, even if it was about efficiency (which it's not), that alone defeats the point of art.

Creating art is messy. Mistakes are made. Parts of it are broken, mismatched, cast aside while the knowledge from that experience is used to create the next piece. And that's the best part.

AI is ultimately a grift. You only need to look at every industry shedding its human workforce by the thousands so that they can be replaced with AI so that more profit can be made.

The point of the video isn't so much about recognition though, it's more about being taken advantage of. About art theft, theft of labor, and how folks who do that are going to be the first to run to AI. Real reasons to ne angry and anxious, for sure, but don't ever let that stop you from creating.

Don't draw for other people. Other people come secondary and you'll only burn yourself out if you focus so much on what other people think. Take it from someone with plenty of experience in that regard.

I don't draw for respect, or likes, or recognition. I draw for the love of drawing.

What happened to Alice is absolutely awful, and there's some additional lessons to be learned from this, both regarding AI and people who will take advantage of you. (Spoiler, the two go together like chili on a hotdog.)
