this is coming up because i finally finished bitterblue, the last book before a huge gap in the series which i last revisted 10+ years ago. I remember so many readers being disappointed in it, and reading it now its like.......

its totally fine to want to be entertained and have fun, but more and more i find myself deeply concerned about that sometimes being the main focus of any piece of media, of art. what is the point if it doesn't make you wonder?

i know this is a controversial opinion (maybe?) but i think people should want to experience stories (books, movies, tv) not just because they are entertaining, but because they make them think.
