You are right of course. My point, and the point of this discussion is that from a mass communication standpoint, it is more effective to say "no child should go to bed hungry" than saying that food insecurity among children is an important problem that needs more attention.

In the late 80s, I was in the studio audience for Night Music hosted by David Sanborn. Before the show I took a leak and Sanborn took the urinal next to me. He had the strap for his saxophone around his neck.

Why are the media afraid to say that is newsworthy because of Epstein's relationship with Trump? Who cares if the deputy director needed a day to process? It's like pretty clear he'd rather be podcasting.

This is clearly extortion. The fact that other media outlets won't call it out is the clearest evidence that it is working.

The telling part of Tapper's answer is that he echoed the BS line that Trump's failings are related to his personality rather than his glaring intellectual and ethical issues. Trump knows he can't keep his train of thought. He calls it the "weave" and insists it's some great rhetorical device.
