Major news for the Gwili Railway! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

They’ve successfully acquired Taff Vale Railway Coach 51 from the National Museum of Wales. Built in 1883, it joins TVR 28 & 220 at Abergwili. See it on display this Easter in the new Dan Do Shed! 🚂

The Vale of Rheidol & SVR have announced a loco exchange. GWR Manor 7819 ‘Hinton Manor’ is heading to Aberystwyth for a 2-year visit starting Spring 2026! A rare chance to see this iconic loco back in Mid-Wales.

On this day, 9th February 1931, the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway ended its original passenger services 🚂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The 2ft 6in gauge line survived as freight only until 1956, when volunteers stepped in to save the railway for future generations.
