What I never understood is why Ishiba, Kishida and Suga championed an anti-growth agenda. But I guess good that Takaichi is pro-growth instead.

It is hard to predict, but I see a very good chance that her government will last for a while (rather than crumble within one year as has been the recent pattern). The LDP might grow again and do better as well. A lot of politics is vibes based, even as realities differ (see Meloni and immigration)

It’s interesting, I see the opposite, both in Japan and abroad. I feel that the media is united in praising her and giving her grace, which we can also see in the support numbers. Completely different to the reception for Ishiba a year ago.

Of course relevance and truth are the most important factors. It seems to me that a guidance like this is trying to suggest to researchers to find these in areas where they might not have looked. Seems sensible.

This is an excellent interview with the German culture critic Wolfgang M. Schmitt. He lays out a leftist point of view about contemporary German politics. It's in German of course, but perhaps the auto-dub or subtitles will be sufficient.

Books are too big now. They are unwieldy.

Yeah, this is how I see it too, it is very complex, but the morality of it is not.
