FWIW, our community's local chapter of Food Not Bombs distributes pet food at their weekly share (along with food and other needed items, of course.) They're pretty widespread, so folks may have a local branch (or other similar entity) that would love the help.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

Not an extension of benefits, a promise to take a vote. No guarantee of a yes vote, just a plain old vote. By now, you should know better than to trust promises from people who refuse to act in good faith and if you don't, well that speaks volumes as well.
