I hate "The List" more and more every time I'm reminded that it existed.

Especially when I -thought- I had selected a version that wasn't "The List" and it is. Selling this time, but buying is equally frustrating.

Buylisting is such a tedious chore, but scraping up close to $1,100 in trade is pretty nice. It'll be cool to see what it shakes out to after grading.

Maybe I will get a Mox Diamond after all.

I was unprepared for the amount of discomfort I remember thinking back on the times I've gone to Magic events.

Like, genuinely and wholly memories where I am struggling to remember the fun of them.

It really is. I miss the folks, but the dark times we live in make the time spent here worse than usual.

Really deep in my pre-event doubt about doing said thing.

I don't really need to get that $60ish bucks back, right?

And it'd be cheaper than all the further costs accrued on the day.

Sometimes I just watch little life-affirming shorts about the kindness of others so I can feel something other than existential dread and the crushing grip of the stupidest empire ever.

It's a terrible habit, and always winds up feeling worse than better most days.

The weekly reminder about how often I spend on my phone is always a mark of shame.

Pretty much. I'm just also notoriously bad at keeping in touch anyway.

Took me far too long to figure out how, but I managed to block bsky on my phone browser.

I'll keep it on my desk computer, but I'm rarely at my desk.

So, for like the 3 people this impacts, I'll be around, just infinitely more rarely.

One of these days I need to set down and sell cards again. I’ve accumulated too much, and it’s silly.

Just not looking forward to the tedium.

Maybe after I replace the garbage disposal.

My mom had a friend over today, and it was probably the happiest I’ve seen her in a friend situation in ages.

It’s great that she has at least one friend that isn’t misery incarnate.

I have been to fewer than 5 concerts, and none of them have been repeats.

Unless we’re counting school bands while the kid was still in band.

I do apologize if it came across like I was trying to quash your enjoyment of it.

It just sits in my craw all wrong because I’m not usually this nitpicky about things. Like, finding joy in something just because it’s fun is fine.

And I don’t know why the back half of Freiren hits poorly for me like it does. Especially because the first half is heart-touching and sincere.

Different tastes, I guess, because the only interesting mage in the test is the old man. The rest feel like half-baked or overdone archetypes. Practically Fairy Tail without the fan service or Black Clover without the books.

When we only got tastes of Kraft the monk and Sein the priest.

I’m happy for you, but I loathed the 1st Class Exams. It was a slog in pacing and the tropes of magic shonen that is a big step down from the initial conceit of the show. Reiterated lessons and a slough of boring characters.

How do you hurdle the 1000+ yr old mage? Bureaucracy. 😞

I agree for the first 16 episodes.

I would sacrifice every single UB set if I could, but yeah. It doesn’t matter all that much. All my investment in this game has been dead for years, and the one thing that got me to invest in something current just leaves a sour taste of regret in my mouth now despite it being such a good set.

It’s okay. I did meet at least a couple that seemed normal and we even remarked on how the family that got out of the rural orbit were reasonable.

It’s just bananas what willful ignorance in an arm’s reach locus of control does to a person.
