So far, the only media outlet that has signed Pete Hegseth's new prohibitive press policy for covering the Pentagon is One America News.

Even Newsmax and the Washington Times have rejected the letter.

I can see that the media is doing an as expected abysmal job of covering this by making it sound like this is some arcane debate about legislative clauses sparked by supposed genius russ vought, but this is explicitly a Constitutional crisis because the executive is usurping core Article I functions

Ironic that some of those troops being replaced are likely high-fiving each other: “I never knew being overweight would pay off like this. Sweet!”

There is no connection between troop payments and federal employee layoffs. Zero.

They are paying the troops with multiyear R&D allocations within DOD. This is also illegal by the way! But completely disconnected to the layoffs.

That is different from what the admin said. They claimed it was coming out of DOD R&D funds. Tariff money cannot be touched by the Trump Regime without congressional approval.

Right when the DoD was gaining ground in seeking more reprogramming flexibility from the HAC-D and SAC-D.

This will put a stake in the heart of that idea. Likely with severe consequences for portfolio-based budgeting.
