@rdtopp.bsky.social just came across this on the Gyrostep Discord. The Brewers just had the most hits in a three game series in the NL since 1950. What we are witnessing out of this team right now is insane.

The Brewers are the best team in baseball right now.

It no longer helps keep people informed. It’s become entirely reactionary. All of that is harming our ability to have constructive political discourse.

So many people would benefit from logging off there (and elsewhere) for a while.

Between seeing dumb shit like this and the straight up Nazi posing threads people have been sharing this morning, why is anyone on Twitter/X anymore? It harms everyone.

It’s, by far, the most toxic social media platform. The best thing I ever did was stop using that hell site.

Any elected Dem or candidate that does this is a problem. It’s like they have no understanding of what a normal person sounds like or talks like. It’s all consultant and focus group tested bullshit that sounds fake and inauthentic while downplaying horrifying actions of this GOP/Trump

I know this might be controversial to say, but the Brewers are only at the beginning of their contention window with this team given what they’ve built. I’m fine with them refusing to put that at-risk for what was traded today.

The money they’re saving might also mean something in the off-season assuming that they can work out an actual TV deal next season.

I think they’ve got the best front office in baseball currently. What they’ve done throughout the system is just incredible to see. No one will ever bat 1.000 on their moves, of course, but they’ve done about as well as anyone could, especially given the resources that they have.

Priester is ahead of him currently. I would agree with that. He also has the potential to stay ahead of him given his production since May 30. I think he’s taken a real step up as y’all discussed on the pod recently.

I said this on the Gyrostep discord last night, but is Andrew Vaughn going to be the most impactful player anyone trades for or has traded for since the beginning of the season? The impact that he’s already had is insane. He’s already been worth 1 fWAR in 15 games.

Brook was quite literally unplayable in the Indiana series. It's because he's lost a bit of the lateral quickness that he had remaining. While I still think he can be an impactful role player, he's now a strictly matchup dependent guy in a way that he wasn't 3-4 seasons ago.

I'd actually go another example and that's how many in the media have talked about Brook Lopez. A lot of prominent people have made out like the Clippers just landed the 2019-20 version of Brook. While I would agree with the idea that the perimeter defenders didn't help, he's clearly regressed too.

That stadium is not a fun place to be when it’s this hot and humid. I’ve been to my fair share of games like that.

Them being active with first base is interesting to me. I wonder if they’re not that confident that Hoskins will be healthy or will return to his prior production. Vaughn has been great, but I get why they’d be looking for insurance there.

Personally, I think we're in need of a new generation of leaders and people in Congress regardless of what the current "leadership" in the Democratic Party does. That means running and electing people who will truly fight for the working class and who are real people.

Bubba Wallace is the biggest reason why I became a full-time fan of NASCAR again back in 2023. There are few people who are as open and honest about their struggles with mental health as he’s been. To see him get a win like he did today is absolutely amazing.
