@rdtopp.bsky.social just came across this on the Gyrostep Discord. The Brewers just had the most hits in a three game series in the NL since 1950. What we are witnessing out of this team right now is insane.

04.08.2025 16:02 — 👍 6 🔁 2 💬 0 📌 1The Brewers are the best team in baseball right now.
04.08.2025 16:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It no longer helps keep people informed. It’s become entirely reactionary. All of that is harming our ability to have constructive political discourse.
So many people would benefit from logging off there (and elsewhere) for a while.
Between seeing dumb shit like this and the straight up Nazi posing threads people have been sharing this morning, why is anyone on Twitter/X anymore? It harms everyone.
It’s, by far, the most toxic social media platform. The best thing I ever did was stop using that hell site.
I wanted to take time tonight to shoutout @theonlyryann.bsky.social for helping me get through these past nine months. It’s been a rough time in my life, but Ryann’s streams have helped me a lot. Ryann makes awesome content and does great stuff for charity. twitch.tv/theonlyryann
02.08.2025 02:35 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Exactly. It’s just corporations ramming stuff into our faces that they think they know we’ll like because they know better than the average person. You’re seeing it everywhere.

01.08.2025 20:14 — 👍 0 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Freedom is a fundamental value that we all share. Many elected Democrats are failing to fight for this core value. If they won’t stand up for our freedoms and rights, then we must elect people who will. open.substack.com/pub/larsend/...
01.08.2025 19:30 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Any elected Dem or candidate that does this is a problem. It’s like they have no understanding of what a normal person sounds like or talks like. It’s all consultant and focus group tested bullshit that sounds fake and inauthentic while downplaying horrifying actions of this GOP/Trump
31.07.2025 22:28 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I know this might be controversial to say, but the Brewers are only at the beginning of their contention window with this team given what they’ve built. I’m fine with them refusing to put that at-risk for what was traded today.
31.07.2025 22:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The money they’re saving might also mean something in the off-season assuming that they can work out an actual TV deal next season.
31.07.2025 22:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0@rdtopp.bsky.social so, where would the Padres be right now if AJ Preller had held onto most of the prospects he traded away over the years? I forget where I saw it earlier, but the list of prospects he’s given up is crazy.
31.07.2025 21:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hey everyone. I've decided after a lot of thought that it was time for me to get back to content creation.
Substack is one place where I'll write and discuss topics that I am passionate about. You can read my opening blog discussing what I hope to do with it here: open.substack.com/pub/larsend/...
This is where I am at. It’d be nice if they could add something, of course, but they’re in great shape as is.
Just in case this becomes necessary, just resharing @theathletic.com’s graph from yesterday.
So this is good context to share with anyone who says the Brewers “aren’t active” or that they “never do anything at the deadline.” @rdtopp.bsky.social
30.07.2025 22:13 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I think they’ve got the best front office in baseball currently. What they’ve done throughout the system is just incredible to see. No one will ever bat 1.000 on their moves, of course, but they’ve done about as well as anyone could, especially given the resources that they have.
30.07.2025 15:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Priester is ahead of him currently. I would agree with that. He also has the potential to stay ahead of him given his production since May 30. I think he’s taken a real step up as y’all discussed on the pod recently.
Guess we could argue that they may have gotten the two most impactful players?
I said this on the Gyrostep discord last night, but is Andrew Vaughn going to be the most impactful player anyone trades for or has traded for since the beginning of the season? The impact that he’s already had is insane. He’s already been worth 1 fWAR in 15 games.
30.07.2025 14:40 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hell yeah Ryann! I’ve been making fitness my top priority while I’ve been out of work. I can’t emphasize enough how much this can help.
On top of going to the gym, I’ve made a point to walk at least 10k steps per day. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in because of that.
You’re killing it!
Brook was quite literally unplayable in the Indiana series. It's because he's lost a bit of the lateral quickness that he had remaining. While I still think he can be an impactful role player, he's now a strictly matchup dependent guy in a way that he wasn't 3-4 seasons ago.
29.07.2025 17:22 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I'd actually go another example and that's how many in the media have talked about Brook Lopez. A lot of prominent people have made out like the Clippers just landed the 2019-20 version of Brook. While I would agree with the idea that the perimeter defenders didn't help, he's clearly regressed too.
29.07.2025 17:20 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0That stadium is not a fun place to be when it’s this hot and humid. I’ve been to my fair share of games like that.
29.07.2025 14:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Them being active with first base is interesting to me. I wonder if they’re not that confident that Hoskins will be healthy or will return to his prior production. Vaughn has been great, but I get why they’d be looking for insurance there.
29.07.2025 14:08 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This is exactly it. You have to have candidates and electeds who actually are normal people. Even though the example I am going to share isn't from politics, I think Bubba Wallace's interview yesterday is a good example of how you do that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1Fz...
28.07.2025 20:13 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Personally, I think we're in need of a new generation of leaders and people in Congress regardless of what the current "leadership" in the Democratic Party does. That means running and electing people who will truly fight for the working class and who are real people.
28.07.2025 20:09 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This interview with Bubba Wallace is absolutely worth your time.

27.07.2025 23:36 — 👍 209 🔁 57 💬 4 📌 11Bubba Wallace is the biggest reason why I became a full-time fan of NASCAR again back in 2023. There are few people who are as open and honest about their struggles with mental health as he’s been. To see him get a win like he did today is absolutely amazing.

Austin Hill ought to be suspended multiple races for that wreck. It was absolutely intentional and one of most dangerous acts that I’ve seen in a while.
