17.02.2026 18:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Of course free will exists. Prophecies are just pattern reading and really good guesses at behavior based on observations of choices that will likely be made.
17.02.2026 12:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Mountain Fell - MC's Societal Thoughts?
Most of the MC are not happy with society as it stands. This is amusing, because all of them are technically part of the Ruling Elite.
Technically.
But hey, after a big war, who is happy?

Who makes the laws in the world of the Mountain Fell? Rulers. And there is a hierarchy amongst Rulers - the Mountain King/Queen is the highest of them all, and sometimes their Edicts last long after their deaths.
Follow up - A Peddler of Chains
The woman is Kiarian, and the man is Willow. This is the pair that is found in the dictionary under "Enemies to Lovers". IFYKYK.
Also, that dress. *drool*

A few folks asked about character illustrations - so I figured I would point at the cover of "A Bond of Thread" first. The man is Ilyas, the woman is Skye, and the tiny blue lady is Mycellica. Mycellica is the star. IFYKYK.

If you love female main characters that kick butt, are NOT Mary Sues, and swear more than most men - this is the series for you. Beware - if you are like me you might forget to sleep. Consider yourself warned.
This series is addictive - and there are more than 11 books. Many more.
The Kurtherian Saga by Michael Anderle
I cannot stress how much I love this series. It's more SciFi than the quick blurb promises - this thing has it all. Werewolves. Weretigers. Vampires. Aliens.

13.02.2026 16:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As it seems this conversation is going nowhere, other than you trying to convince me I'm terrible (which you won't), I hope you have a blessed evening and enjoy a good book, show, nap, whatever.
13.02.2026 01:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That doesn't mean I like what the Military has done, or is doing, in all or even most instances. What it does mean is I look at the complication that is life, and I try to move forward with better knowledge. Me between ages 17-24 is not the 40 year old I am now. Thank the gods.
13.02.2026 01:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Again - I repeat - you are barking up the wrong tree.
Beating a dead horse - because you aren't actually saying anything about hte military or the United States that I disagree with.
I learned valuable things in the military, about myself and the people of the world. I'm proud of that.
I have never said that there is no culpability, or that i can't be criticized. What I said is life is complicated.
Nothing - and no one - is ever 100% bad all the time.
I made the best decisions I could with knowledge I had at the time.
I live with those. I learn. I grow.
Again - you assume a lot. I didn't participate in combat. I supported humanitarian work for Katrina.
The only time I personally went to the middle east was a multinational training exercise.
I didn't get sent to the warfront.
You keep assuming that I don't confront these things.
Learn to recognize real foes, friend. Because I'm not it. You don't know me. You see a profile picture, and you see 5 random facts. You make a lot of assumptions.
Do better.
I may not agree with most of my country's actions over the last 200+ years, and i never really have.
What I agreed with was the idea that we could be better, that we could aspire for Justice and pick ourselves up along the way.
Trust me, the grief in seeing them fail is real.
Telling someone that they are shit does not make them want to be better - and it's a waste of effort when that someone already agrees that what they were raised to believe was a lie.
You're trying to beat a dead horse - and you accomplish nothing doing it.
I also think that waving a hate flag at people who clearly agree there is aproblem isn't going to solve your issue. You are trying to make me feel guilty - it won't work.
I do introspection all the damn time. I learn. I consider.
You assume a lot. You also assign guilt while not really thinking about life.
Do I agree that America has done shit? Yes. Obviously.
Do I think any other country does better? No - I just think they don't have the resources to be as awful.
Humanity sucks sometimes.
I think everyone should try -
Things are complicated. If you're not wealthy, raised in a rural area, brainwashing occurs and your only way out is usually through the meat grinder.
I made it out of the meat grinder,. But I don't regret being raised to think that serving a community is a bad thing.
Hardly an 'interest' - note it says Veteran instead of active duty.
There's a reason I'm in Europe, and actively vocal about my disagreements.
That being said - I'm proud of the ethics I was raised in - I truly believed in the Constitution, and I'm furious at h ow it is being used as to wipe ass.
1. I was born in Michigan but spent 5 years in Hawaii.
2. I'm a veteran.
3. I currently live in Europe.
4. I am an avid ttrpg player. My favorite is world of darkness, Mage Changeling and Vampire are my three favorites in that genre.
5. I love reptiles.

One of my favorite book series is Gilded Blood, by Rachel Rener.
She is unhinged, and the book series runs the gamut of hilarity, drama, and tears. 10/10 from me, and I promise you will love Bisskiss. IFYKYK
What's your favorite?
