Gates was smart enough at one time to recognize that IBM was focused on hardware and he stepped into the software vacuum. That does not make him and expert on everything

Looks like this was just a ploy to get his sons lined up to take over the program. Bill doesn't want to coach college kids, but lining up nice jobs for his kids ... maybe?

I agree, running food banks nationwide is a non-starter. However, I do think there could be some creative ways to keep a light shining on the issue, and do some good raising awareness, donations, and $; keeping the Rs on defense

I don't see how finding ways (OK, legal ones) to let the public know that Ds are trying to help deal with food shortages is incompatible with winning elections?

Cracks are forming in the 501c regs now that the IRS is supporting excluding churches from the Johnson Amendment in a case in Texas where the two churches involved want to be able to make endorsements and engage in partisan politics. The Rs are happy to challenge the rules/norms.

Maybe Warren Buffett, Melinda Gates, McKenzie Scott, etc. could get together and set an annuity that funds 100% of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting? Completely independent

Maybe stronger and more creative leadership at the DNC could guide an impractical suggestion towards a way to help folks get involved (in a very visible way) in their local food kitchens and food banks to draw attention that the Ds are pitching in to help at the grass roots level?

If I were running the DNC, there would be Democratic Party sponsored food relief banks across the country right now that specifically welcomed anyone regardless of party affiliation.
