Tip for film programmers: don’t obsess over how you have more films to watch and assess than one person could ever possibly absorb. Save space in your brain for the fact that you also have more emails to read and write than one person could ever possibly absorb

Filmmakers: when compiling your special thanks, shout out some film programmers who helped your career. I used to feel differently. But as the system falls apart and most of us work for shady orgs, work for peanuts, or don’t have work, it’s one rare reminder that our efforts had a positive impact.
