I am spending Saturday night writing about all the people Trump is targeting with politically motivated criminal investigations and prosecutions. Legacy media has largely whitewashed these stories with both sides coverage. Subscribe to Democracy Docket now, because I never will. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

This is the best argument I've seen.

The cheap health insurance promoted by Trump officials has this catch As millions brace for higher insurance prices, plans touted by the Trump administration are attracting attention. They are cheaper, but coverage is often skimpy.

Unlike most insurance, these plans don’t cover preexisting conditions or basic needs like maternity care and mental health. Their coverage is so limited that five states have banned their sale.

Trump administration will require SNAP participants to reapply for benefits Food aid recipients are already required to recertify their information regularly. But the move is part of USDA chief Brooke Rollins’ effort to overhaul the program.

After weaponizing the shutdown to block SNAP benefits for hungry people, the Trump Admin is using the oldest trick in the book to do more of the same.

This kind of red tape does nothing to prevent fraud β€” it just makes it harder for working people to get the benefits they need.

Count the ways they’re corrupting DOJ: Presidents don’t direct AG’s to open criminal cases, especially ones designating only Dems for investigation when POTUS himself is involved. DOJ doesn’t publicize criminal investigations & the AG definitely doesn’t assign them on Twitter.

Full SNAP benefits funded
The good news: All eligible people should be quickly getting their full SNAP benefit payments for November.
With the shutdown-ending appropriations legislation signed into law, the Justice Department informed the U.S. Supreme Court that it was withdrawing its request for a stay of the district court order that U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) pay out full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November.

Memo Blessing Boat Strikes Is Said to Rely on Trump’s Claims About Cartels

Trump wanted to commit mass murders constituting Crimes Against Humanity, so he ignited an intra-agency criminal conspiracy to facilitate his psychopathic, homicidal scheme.

There, I summarized the situation for you.

I guess I’d just add that everyone involved in this has earned a prison sentence.

From a Bluesky post on which the author chose to disable quote-tweets (fair enough, and I wouldn't quote it if I weren't complimenting it: "Instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters.""

This is actually good spin, or would have been. But the fact that the Democratic cave happened without even a coordinated, agreed-upon message like this indicates the depth of the leadership void.

So apparently senators must now be notified in advance if their phone records are requested during the investigation of a crime. No one else, just senators. So they're free to crime and can't be investigated without notice. This is so wrong, but it's great for senators who want to commit crimes.
