You may know that I am an avid runner, for >35 years. The older, the more motivated I became. Last year, I ran my first full marathon. When I crossed the finish line, I thought: "This was the toughest thing Iโ€™ve ever done (beside a PhD)."

I've wanted to write this article for years. About my and other's struggles to even survive sometime in #academia. Thank you to the amazing editors at @plosbiology.org that gave me the forum to write this piece. #science

Rapid clearance of achiral small-molecule drugs using de novo-designed proteins and their cyclic and mirror-image variants - Nature Biomedical Engineering Cyclic and mirror-image variants of de novo-designed proteins effectively bind and clear small-molecule drugs in vivo in less than 30โ€‰min, highlighting the applicability of computational tools to prod...

New paper from @nickpolizzi.bsky.social, Bill Degrado and Bobo Dang showing that de novo designed small molecule binding proteins can bind to the drug and clear it from the circulation in vivo. Read in Nature Biomedical Engineering!

Had a great time at #ABPP2025! Great to see so many former lab members and their students and postdocs. Awesome venue and program. Looking forward to ABPP2027 in Leiden and then Ben Cravatt and I will try to bring it to California!

Thanks to all my co-authors! This is my first paper under my new affiliation at @upf.edu โ€”a project I started at Stanford and finalized in my own lab after an overseas move. A special thanks to @mbogyo.bsky.social , for his mentorship and support throughout this journey!

Excited for whatโ€™s next! ๐Ÿš€
