Along with still getting precious about using fifty pound notes. Yes, there used to be fakes in circulation (just as there were fake pound coins). I usually have a 100 Euro note on me - unless I try and buy a solitary pack of gum, it is accepted without demur.

I remember 40 years ago that my father got angry with a guy wearing an ID card on a lanyard, peddling stuff, and had a rare rant about it. I've never been bothered having to carry two here in Austria (voluntary Personalausweis and a health insurance card). I file it under exceptionalism.

I really enjoyed the various legs apart from being berated about my slowness at a Hamburg breakfast buffet by a lady, who clearly was planning the contents of her family's packed lunch, and accused me of being on my first single parent holiday!

Will make sure I catch up on 242-245, which I've missed while on holiday and send a message from Vienna!

Back to work in the morning after holidays in the Côte d'Azur, Liguria and Hamburg. Really enjoyed speaking and reading French again!

Sadly this vaping shop in Vienna didn't last long.

We have a shared Outlook calendar at work to record everyone's leave. We don't work weekends. It irritates me no end when someone books two weeks off and their entry goes over the weekend days as one long block rather than it going on as two five-day blocks.
