Yeah, I had to stop going to my doctors about 5yrs ago. The copay for each specialist was hundreds of dollars, with insurance. Just couldn't creative finance my way out of it.

Read a few days ago that more people are getting their news from Heather Cox Richardson than some large legacy media, and gee, guess who's still on Substack while talking about fascism and Nazis.

Her subscribers got the same swastikas as everyone else, is she leaving? nah.

When I was 13 I went to church. During the homily, the priest went on & on that we must sacrifice for the (Catholic) church. If it was btwn putting food on the table & tithing the church, we were to tithe: "god will provide." I walked out & never been back. Now you know why Rs are ok w/ppl starving.

I wish there was a safety net for all of us falling thru the cracks. Those of us that can't get SNAP, but can't afford food. Those of us that can't get med assist, but can't afford to go to docs or afford their meds. We're here too, starving, suffering, & dying. Who's looking out for us? #disability

Our monthly budget is: pay bills, hopefully eat. And that's it.

I have been in an unending Lupus flare since January. It keeps getting worse. I've dropped 40lbs in the last few months that I wasn't trying & can't afford to lose.

Unemployment? They consider themselves essential workers whether they actually do any work or not. They get full pay and benefits during the shutdown, even during their 6+ week vacation. They all need to be thrown out for abandonment of duty.

I'm going to sit here and hysterically laugh/cry. Everything is breaking & there's no way to replace any of it. PC died a few years ago, no more video games for me. Laptop died, that's all my craft stuff. 1/2 my phone screen doesn't work most the time, no $ to replace that.

Thank you NYC. I really needed that little glimmer of hope today. While I'm still trapped in the Bible belt, it makes me happy to see other places fighting back. I hope to escape to somewhere safer, but until then, I'm just glad to find something positive somewhere.

My SO just played me Katy Perry's bumper sticker song, Roar sung by a band from Austria that sound like a bunch of angry Russians. I'm in love with it.

The band is Russkaja and they describe their music as "Russian turbo polka metal." I'm totally sold.
