04.10.2025 13:56 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I constantly have to battle against being told I'm drug seeking. Being told I'm not trying hard enough to get better. Being forced to try meds and treatments that torture me. Just to prove that I'm not drug seeking and that I'm actually in pain.
I don't need unsolicited advice.
I'm not saying that all white people get great medical care but you aren't getting bad care due to medical racism for example. I don't have the same options. Some white people can ask for things in medical settings. But if I do, I get rejected and treated poorly.
04.10.2025 02:40 — 👍 57 🔁 6 💬 1 📌 0We live in different worlds and it would benefit a lot of white people to listen more than they give unsolicited advice. It's so performative. And centers themselves. When they should be realizing that Black and other marginalized groups do not get the same access to care.
04.10.2025 02:40 — 👍 54 🔁 6 💬 2 📌 0It's easy to say all the things I should do regarding being abused by medical workers when you don't use your privilege to help me in any way that's meaningful. It's easy to talk to me like I haven't tried everything. And treating me like I'm inferior. It's condescending.
04.10.2025 02:40 — 👍 56 🔁 6 💬 1 📌 1I've been getting a lot of unsolicited advice especially from white people. I'm Black. I don't get treated the same as you. I can't just switch doctors. I'll be labelled negatively & get no care at all. Yes it's wrong. But at the end of the day, you won't do anything about it.

Let us in. Hold ICE accountable. Tear down the fence.
This is what we are demanding from the Broadview ICE facility, and nothing less.
Our leaders can decide whether they stand with the people or with ICE. There is no middle ground.
Federal agents are overtly abusing their power to try to intimidate advocates and elected officials. We need ICE out of Illinois immediately and justice for people like Ald. Jessie Fuentes who are defending their communities.

Starting tomorrow Georgians will be able to log on and see their health insurance rates for next year.
Sadly, many will see that their premiums have doubled or more because of Republican cuts.
This is why I cannot vote for a budget that fails to fund health care.
I was sent this by a Georgian this morning. 2025 premiums vs 2026 premiums for someone making $65k a year.
Republicans in Washington did this.
This is what I'm fighting to stop. This is what’s at stake in this shutdown fight.
