Opinion | In Trump’s America, Are We Losing Our Democracy? Donald Trump has wielded power as no previous president has.

Two notes:
1. Drop the question mark and make the argument the title
2. Put it on the front page and make it the banner headline

Opinion | Why Even Basic A.I. Use Is So Bad for Students

shoot this straight into my veins

I now hold office hours while cowering under my desk. It was awkward at first but I think the students are adjusting to it.

[sigh]
- We don't have the most
- We're just getting started on "update and renovation"
- Other countries aren't testing
- DOW (DOD) doesn't do that
- It's not happening immediately lol

This narcissistic attitude that sees a vote as a curated extension of your personal brand or a version of a celebrity endorsement is going to be the death of this nation.

I know it’s too much to expect them to know their history, but if the American Revolution had a motto, it definitely would not have been β€œimmigrants go home.”

It would have been β€œget your fucking soldiers out of our cities.”

A pardon "following months of efforts by Zhao to boost the Trump family’s own crypto company." Unprecedented corruption.

I’m glad so many major universities are credulously reorganizing everything they do around products marketed with this acronym.

My most frequent comment on undergrad research proposals: "choose your fighter."

Whether it's mixed methods, too many cases, conflating causal mechanisms and confounders---they are all over the place. Rather than specifying how to refine their causal story, I give them feedback in their dialect.

Telecommunications as a whole, which also encompasses The Internet, is in a constant state of failure and just in time fixes and functionally all modern communication would collapse if about 50 people, most of which are furries, decided to turn their pager off for a day.

this tweet also remains the truest thing written about how the underlying architecture of the internet works

IMHO the best way to limit gerrymanders’ effects is neither process by which districts are drawn or characteristics of districts that result, but by mandating multi member districts and allocating seats by PR within them

The most upsetting part of this story to me is the line where the Times says it is β€œunclear” where the money came from.

Under our constitution,
it is either extremely clear where money comes from - a congressional appropriation - or an illegal channel. So so, @nytimes.com

This is probably wrong of me but I genuinely don’t think I’d know when those No Kings protests are if not for Republican Senators getting on tv and being like β€œSkeletor will be there, everyone who is there will get an abortion, the ceremony will raise the dread visions of Nyarlathotep”

Don't get me wrong, the Roberts court has lost its damn mind in pursuit of partisan goals. However, gutting the VRA at this point is putting a hat on a hat.

Our institutions failed in all the ways the founders feared they could and we'll need to rethink their fundamental designs moving forward.

Feels quaint, almost clichΓ©, to say this about a Trump action, but just for the record:

This is all illegal, the President can't simply disregard the laws passed and agencies created by Congress, and both Vought & Trump would be impeached if the Constitution or the rule of law mattered to the GOP.
