Almost done the rewatch of The Tale of the Heike, keeping track of where we are via my translation of the original text is fun. Seeing where the show trimmed the, not fat per sec, but aspects that could be streamlined for pacing purposes is an interesting exercise.

The way my dad's side is, there being 20+ years between the oldest sibling (my grandmother) and the youngest, is that there was a very fluid titling of relations. Like I have no idea how someone would be weirded out by this. Hell I had people I wasn't even related to called aunts and uncles
