Truly. I hope Canadian politicians are listening… we need to care for EVERYONE. Empathy wins.

Republicans need to act now to make sure those benefits are available to people who depend on them. If they don’t, millions of children, seniors, and low-income Americans will go hungry ahead of the holidays.

Canada Post “lost” 1 billion dollars last year?

How about, “it cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal service” which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.

The government will take all the recommendations of William Kaplan to cut back Canada Post, but won’t accept any meaningful recommendations from the union to bolster the service and think about the many ways it could improve quality of life for Canadians.

Minister Lightbound says it’s time for tough choices, but his choices are not about bolster the service, but cutting it back. Other choices could be made: allowing and building out postal banking or recognizing a public service does not need to be profitable, as an example.

The government is reducing service standards and Canada Post’s biggest advantage: its nationwide network.

This plan is about cutting back the postal service instead of investing to give it new revenue tools through things like postal banking. It’s shameful.

Exactly! If every light were dimmable, I would be happy. Most of the fixtures here have 3 bulbs. The chandelier in the dining room has 36… (I only dropped one bulb, and swore while cleaning up little shards of glass) Hope all goes well and congrats on the new place!

Same. We changed the lightbulbs at our new place too almost immediately. I know I might be part vampire, but wincing every time I turned on the light did not work for me.
