This bird appears to be a Western Wood-Pewee because of having a less noticeable eye ring, yellow on the lower mandible at the base and longer wings. I saw this one hanging out just after a September monsoon rain storm.

A Pygmy Nuthatch. I enjoy watching them move around quickly across the branches of Ponderosa Pines trees. They are quite the acrobats. I have seen them hanging upside down off a branch.

I came across many Pinyon Jays today in the mountains of northern Arizona. They were searching through the ponderosa pine cones and may have been burying the pine seeds in the ground below the layer of pine needles. I saw them flying between the trees often.
