it is very easy to become so consumed with anxiety that a choice is wrong or incomplete or that you aren’t doing enough or that no one cares or or or. it easily leads to an intense drive for a type of purity that completely neutralizes people rather than pushes them forward.

it sure seems like a lot of discipline and focus has permeated the left. really stunning to see huge swaths of people with very recent learned experience recognize destabilizing bait and to ignore it, while quietly acknowledging constructive criticism and building from that.
