Schumer wanted to keep fighting for political reasons. Shaheen and crew wanted the deal because the shutdown had become pointless as there was no ACA deal to be had with Republicans. In my book they were both right. Schumer for wanting the fight and Shaheen for sticking to reality.

I told you, but so many loud talking know-nothings had Schumer diarhea of the mouth. People on the Hill talk to me because I am LOYAL. I keep their confidences and I NEVER stab them in the back for clicks. If I am punching, I am punching Republicans.

The Senate has rejected a plan from Sen. Tammy Baldwin D-WI to extend the expiring Obamacare health insurance subsidies for 1 year. Party line vote.

A couple of outcomes of the shutdown battle not discussed much:

- Most of the country now knows that Democrats were trying to keep these massive cost hikes from happening and that Republicans were more determined to let it happen no matter who goes hungry or doesn’t get paid.

There are valid criticisms of Schumer but these were rogue senators that voted for the CR.

Don't exit, use your voice and get involved with your county party. ITs much easier to influence and they desperately need people who can work to change things.

Jeffries has been consistent saying he opposes this CR and he is in leadership.

You are purposefully trying to tar a whole party, instead of focusing on the defectors.

There’s a two party duopoly in this nation.

Is it great? No! Is it reality? Yes.

Creating a third party means building up an entirely new infrastructure from scratch and then fighting both R & D.

Taking over the Dem Party is an easier and more effective route. It’ll take time, but it’s worth it.

For messaging purposes it’s important that we avoid saying ‘Dems caved’.

The reality is that *some Dems* caved to *all Republicans*, and we need to be careful to remind Dem voters of that.

Small comfort I know, but the last thing we want is ALL Dems to get blamed when most voted correctly.

If this discharge petition happens - and it happens in December - an upset victory in the #TN07 Special Election for Democrat @aftynbehn.bsky.social could change the entire debate from both a political and policy standpoint.

Turnout was down 75% in Middle TN U.S. House special election, particularly in GOP strongholds • Tennessee Lookout Turnout in the special election primary for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District race was down compared to the 2024 General Election.

When #TN07 held its primary in October, GOP turnout was way down across the board.

Just another sign that an upset could happen here.

If you think the people throwing Great Gatsby-esque parties for themselves, while millions were denied their food assistance, are all of a sudden going to grow a conscience and save affordable healthcare, you clearly have not been paying attention.

Start pushing for Medicare-for-All.
