It’s axiomatic that, in the drug war, the lowest level people face the harshest consequences while the guys at the top rarely face any. That this government is doing it so brazenly and excessively is shocking, but this is ultimately the system working as it always has.

I love when these guys insist that they are just complete fools. The most incredulous imbeciles. Incapable of seeing what is right in front of them. Maybe you shouldn’t have control of all that money if you’re so incompetent. You obviously didn’t get it because of your relative merit.

DC Statehood yesterday

Today President Trump signed the resolution approved by Congress that repeals a D.C. bill that decoupled the local tax code from some provisions of the federal tax code.

It's only the fifth time in the last 50 years that a D.C. bill has been repealed by Congress.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Has anyone in the Epstein Files who didn’t do anything wrong been punished? Maybe someone who was at a meeting Epstein was at. Never went to the island, didn’t get money from him, nor had a bunch of friendly emails.

Anyone get arrested, fired, etc.? Because moral panics feature that sort of thing.

I think we get to put social consequences, at the very least, on the people who were more than happy to excuse what was well known after 2008.

Who is being unfairly targeted? It seems like the people (very few of them) dealing with consequences are clearly in the camp of “knew what was going on,” or “should have,” assuming they weren’t actively involved in the worst of it.

UT Law needs to evaluate their Constitutional Law curriculum, because their graduates seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of the 4th Amendment.

Look, I know SCOTUS has basically nullified the 4th Amendment, but you have to at least pretend you care about it.

This is inexcusable. You absolutely do not have to accept these false premises pushed by fascist bigots. Immigration did not go to far, and it is not disruptive or destabilizing. It is, in fact, the loud jerks pushing these narratives that are disrupting and destabilizing the country.

As a former public defender who represented thousands of people, I can’t stop thinking about the contrast the Epstein files raise.

I watched 1000s face swift, devastating punishment for far less serious conduct — poor, marginalized, & presumed dangerous from the start.

Anytime someone insists we must teach the bible in public schools, the appropriate response is to ask, “which one?”

It has been so awesome watching Trump attorneys (government and personal, if there is even a distinction anymore) break all the basic rules of litigating, like “don’t piss off the judge.”
