the crazy thing about amplify is i've read like 5 of kelly gallagher's books and adopted a lot of his strategies in my classroom but i feel like amplify as a curriculum actually doesnt follow a lot of what he proposes in his own books????

i read shanahan pretty often because he is up on the research and there are things that are useful for me to know but having tried to teach his curriculum, i just cant jive with this 😂 my current district's curriculum is amplify, which is also ass but in importantly different ways imo

knowing that shanahan wrote studysync............ it all makes sense now. one time a parent complained abt us reading the hunger games (WHICH IS A STUDYSYNC NOVEL) and my admin told me "well the curriculum doesnt require u to read all of hunger games, just excerpts" LMFAOOOO
