If anything, the fact that it's slightly less effective this year makes it even MORE important that anyone who can safely get a flu shot gets one. Infectious diseases are best combated by community response b/c low risk people can still spread the flu to their higher risk friends and neighbours.

WTF. Lately, Teen Vogue showed up as an example of what journalism *should* be. This is such a blatant, unapologetic reversal of that... gutting a publication that made a point of building excellence out of the everyday. It's sickening.

Specific wording isn't the important part, though. What's important is short, clear, visible and repeated messaging.

A basic text sign saying "find the courage to do what is right".

A basic text sign saying "your honor, your oath to defend our constitution".

Sorry for flogging a pet project, but I'd urge anyone in DC (Chicago, Portland, etc) to post signs like this, visibly and repeatedly, IF you feel safe doing so.

Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

Baloney. Religion does not (should not) mean you can opt out of being taught that certain people or events exist. You can *believe* that homosexuality is wrong, or war is wrong, or eating meat is wrong. But don't ask schools to let your kids opt out of learning these things exist in society. FFS.

What the absolute fuck. My absentee ballot is already on its way back in, but this is sickening on lots of levels. I don't want someone who says this shit becoming attorney general. I also don't want conservatives to win the races for atty general and governor, and this makes it much more likely.

It's a lot easier to understand what I'm trying to say when I talk about the second amendment if you imagine that I want the second amendment to be about as strong as the current court makes the fourth, and I want the fourth amendment to be about as strong as we make the second.

Worth noting: ICE agents also swear an oath to the Constitution.

If you're somewhere ICE is active, *and you feel safe doing so*, please consider printing and posting these or similar signs. We remember what we hear and see.

Optics matter: if you want people to turn out next election despite troops in the streets, then show them it matters.

Or if you're (understandably!) leery of clicking links from people online, make up whatever you want to say. Print out a bunch. Stick them on sign posts, light poles, wherever.

Replace them when they get torn down.

The illusory truth effect (aka reiteration effect) means people tend to believe things that are repeated, even if not true.

Let's use it to remind people of things that ARE true.

The goal is simple, objectively true messages, posted places they're easy to see, replaced when they're removed.

A continuation of an earlier project - I'd urge anyone (who feels safe doing so) in DC, Chicago, Portland, Memphis, anywhere troops are being domestically deployed, to put up basic signs reiterating that our armed services swear an oath to the *constitution.*
