Forecast 'meteogram' for Halifax to give an idea of timing. The period of heavy rain could change to or mix with snow overnight (I'd say maybe 20% chance of that - but would be a mess if it happened!). Official city forecast is mostly rain. #nswx #nsstorm #pewx

Similar around here! Birch hold on quite late, as do a type of Maple that I don't know the name of. Still have foliage in tact as of December 1st here. The city has many small trees that look like pear leaves that are still 80%+ foliage hanging-on.

After today's rain, plenty of freezing of remaining moisture/puddles/etc tonight with low temps well below zero - coldest of the season so far for many in the map area: #nswx #pewx . Halifax urban area -5 to -9C.

Tomorrow in the wake of the current weather system there will be a clearing trend with mild temperatures around midday (up to 14 or 15C briefly in spots - see map) before a big cool-down during the afternoon and evening. High wind gusts around noon as well. #nswx #pewx

Tragically we are about to witness the 2nd or 1st deepest Atlantic hurricane landfall by min MSLP on record in Jamaica.

On Saturday driving over Mt Thom the blueberry fields next to the highway were beaming bright red as they usually do in late October. This and others also stand out in high-resolution satellite image.
