I’m taking my kid to the park but the gist is the demand for warrantless info isn’t limited in scope and is in fact v broad to include all service providers — including health service providers

basically a generational cohort split here where certain younger people intuitively grasp the irony poisoned context, and if you aren't already up to speed, very hard to explain

it’s also wild to me that progressives wouldn’t want to push a liberal government to get rid of the more worrying provisions in c2 that are a blatant threat to our privacy and sovereignty

if the request is made, the data gets handed over without a warrant, which is exactly how the legislation is written…have you actually read the bill? or do you trust the trump administration not to abuse the provisions as contained in the bill?

what part of my column is unfounded? bill c2 is a privacy nightmare and would absolutely hand over all sorts of data — including health data — to US law enforcement without a warrant

pro tip: you can’t claim the entire security & economic partnership is over and then willingly hand over all sorts of info sans warrant to the US

it’s amazing how many otherwise reasonable ppl are acting like this was some sort of masterful gambit instead of a last ditch invite to someone in trumplandia bc everyone else likely turned them down (also unclear how much insight or advising this guy would’ve had into active trade negotiations)
