Why do parties do what they do? Excited to share my 2nd dissertation paper, just published in @jeppjournal.bsky.social
In the paper, I argue that parties seek internal unity and try to keep the team together: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

New paper out @wepsocial.bsky.social!
🥡 Key Take-Away: Opposition parties seek more conflict with the government when performing poorly in the polls – especially when falling below their previous election result.

Why do authoritarian-leaning leaders target women’s and LGBTQ+ rights? Is there a systematic pattern that reaches beyond individual country cases, and how is this reflected in people’s attitudes and societal norms?

A thread on this year's authors and affiliations 🧵
Super happy to see this paper now in print! We show that parties which do not enter coalitions, but have formal (written) support agreements with minority cabinets- such as Tidö Agreement in Sweden - are likely to be punished at the next elections, similarly to junior coalition partners.

In my new op-Ed, I argue that the “male glaze” of media and politics is empirically, normative, and politically wrong and that progressives should focus more on the left turn of young women.
