My aunt worked as a clerk at a grain elevator. Her job REQUIRED her to wear dresses/skirts, hose and heels to work.

Sometimes, they were shorthanded during harvest season. She helped unload grain trucks wearing that attire.

Scooping grain in heels took great balance and strong legs and arms.

Nailed it! My DIL was shocked to find out that’s how things were then. I told her it was an accurate portrayal of life then, down to the music, clothing & workplace. I never wanna go back to that era & I’m 74!
