I tried a different technique with these guys, using layers of contrast paint instead of regular. I don’t think I’ll keep using it though because it’s not very forgiving of mistakes, and looks about the same, as you can see in this comparison.

Haha! It's my first time hearing about this guy, but just from this cover it's defintely a Dredd parody. In 1986 some big time nerds might have heard of Dredd, he's an influence on Robocop which will come out in 1987. But I can't imagine a lot of readers would have instantly said "Yep that'd Dredd"
