I love the 12, don't get me wrong, but they don't make it anymore, so repairing the lenses will net me a 13 Pro for several hundred bucks. And I am frankly disappointed by the 16 but I will be dead in the cold cold ground before I buy another lightning cable.

I am about to trade in my 12 Pro with two broken camera lenses for a 16 and you are not helping this old man keep from yelling at this particular cloud.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.

Tech guys six months ago: haha yes we’re cutting all this WASTEFUL spending by eliminating medical research and USAID

Tech guys now: yes I think taxpayers will be excited to bailout my non consensual pornography machine

Tolkein is good strong medicine for any climate person and always has been

If he is saying billion, with a B, that's about 400 pounds per person, which seems like an unhealthy amount of weight to lose. bsky.app/profile/acyn...

The fuckers got away with it.

The company. The people who made the decisions. All of them.

They got away with killing hundreds for the sake of a few cents per share of increased earnings. 🀬

"Centrists" need to call Mamdani a "radical leftist" so they can say Trump/Farage fascism is just the opposing side of an equally matched "both sides" conflict

But Mamdani is just a middle of the road, European social democrat

And "centrists" - ie centre-right and right - are simply pro-fascism.

This sucks so hard. Teen Vogue did a better job of calling politics than a few certain national papers.

Hope somebody is staffing up and can hire these talented reporters.

Ensuring the answer to this ridiculously important question stays permanently secret is the single most important priority of the tech industry right now, in terms of data / climate disclosures

I would say you're allowed to spend the effort to make it look as if it were static text but no more than one per playthrough.

Sort of incredible that we live in a world where the vice president of the United States is just spewing the sort of horseshit that literal children are traditionally taught is wrong

It’s not moonshine its β€œunaged bourbon” it’s not being a hobo with seasonal employment it’s β€œvan life” that’s not a trailer it’s a β€œtiny home” it’s not piecework it’s the β€œgig economy” - culture is the thin wedge to make survival strategies of the poor sound like fun fads

This whole thread is extremely valuable, but this hit home in an extremely personal way. It's not even my field, but I have worked with so many of these people and the mask off moment is revolting every single time.

Long story short, an actual Nazi doxxing ring. Enough people reported them that they went away for like 12 hours and then Elon personally brought them back. The site is dead. If you’re still on there, go lock your account right now

The decline of third spaces and hangouts, such as malls, video rental places, arcades & skate parks has been a direct result of the rise of convenience and has also been objectively bad for society as a whole. Its not that everyone HAS to socialize, but having no option to without bars is a failing.

US and Canada weigh revival of β€˜zombie’ Keystone XL pipeline in trade talks Controversial project to ship heavy crude to Texas coast was killed by Biden administration on environmental grounds

This shit makes me furious & despondent.

Scientific evidence, mass suffering, and the prospect of economic, political and social breakdown are insufficient to spur action.

We talk abt geongineering while investing further in fossil fuels.

We have collectively become untethered from reality.

Two headlines on front page of NYT.

First is "Trump Weighs Transforming Refugee Policy. White People Would be Given Preference."

Second is "Justices May Ban Race as a Factor in District Maps. Nation's Political Balance Could Shift If Court Guts 1964 Law."

Two headlines on front page of NYT. First is "Trump Weighs Transforming Refugee Policy. White People Would be Given Preference." Second is "Justices May Ban Race as a Factor in District Maps. Nation's Political Balance Could Shift If Court Guts 1964 Law."

Where we stand, in long arc of history:

-Story on left, adding race as a factor when that favors white people.

-Story on right, banning race as a factor when that favors non-whites.

I often complain about NYT headlines and story-play. But these are strong. Including "If Court Guts 1965 Law."

PENTAGON PRESS ASSOCIATION
STATEMENT
Today, the Defense Department confiscated the badges of the Pentagon reporters from virtually every major media organization in America. It did this because reporters would not sign onto a new media policy over its implicit threat of criminalizing national security reporting and exposing those who sign it to potential prosecution.
The Pentagon Press Association's members are still committed to reporting on the U.S. military. But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.
