Last year I was very lucky to have picked up this vintage crochet book from a charity (thrift) shop. It dates back to 1975 and it has some lovely designs/patterns.

I don't have weaving pegs to make a warp (for tablet weaving). Instead, I use my good ol yarn swift to make a long enough warp of threads. It makes a good length 😁 Also, I use my thread organiser to make sure my 'threads' are in order #tabletweaving #cardweaving #bandweaving #weaving #weavingloom

Greenland belongs to the Inuit. I find it bizarre seeing Danes in Greenland championing 'sovereignty' when it was their Viking ancestors who colonised the land. In later times they forcibly sterilised Inuit woman and took their children. Greenland is #indigenous not Danish #colonisation

4: I hope 2026 will be a new beginning in my journey about reclamation of identity and decolonisation of non Traveller ideas/traits. I hope to God that I will no longer recieve the judgement from other community members and that they will actually start embracing me as one of them.

3: 2026 will be a new chapter in no longer giving a hoot what other community members say about me as well. I am who I say I am; tough luck to those Travellers who don't like that I have flattie blood in me. Don’t call yourselves "Christians" if you judge me for not being a true/full Traveller.

2: Secondly, I'm not going to allow the certain run in the mill Travellers dictate and tell me I'm not Traveller enough. Put it this way, at least I'm half a Traveller, not a quarter or just had a grandparent who was one. I have every right to reclaim my identity that was literally robbed from me.

1: 2026 for me will be ending the internalised biases I once had for my Traveller identity. I was never ashamed of my background, I just didn't feel as proud to be a Traveller back in the past than I do now. I guess growing up without my culture didn't help allot.

Spinning up some wool before New Year, as according to Lowland (Scottish) legend, the Gyre-Carlin (the Lowland Cailleach or Hag spirit) will steal your unspun work if you fail to finish it. So I better hurry up 🤪
