Sounds a about right.
I didn't mean to derail the thread, but it's bringing up some unexpected parallels.
But not the war on Christmas; that's not the same at all.

Never underestimate the ability of customers to throw the product away with the packaging.

Yes, I'm British but I've always thought of the taste of power, followed by the restoration as being one of the drivers of puritan/protestant emigration to populate the 13 colonies.
Though now I think of the founding stories they are much earlier.
Are they harking back further to the English civil war? Two examples with opposing armies and perhaps the best known for English speakers.

Better tolerated by patients, better results and cheaper.
What's not to like? You can ask for the traditional prep, but I can't think who would.

I think I remember you posting about it at the time.
I'm impressed; I have so many half, if you're generous, done projects.
And I'm pretty sure that's intensified in 10 years. Will the economic climate change reverse this or not?
As for utility for the parties I think one thing missing from this is consideration of any mismatch between what the researchers and voters consider a partie's values.
This struck me. "β¦usersβ responses on the cultural dimension were slightly more coherent than those that formed part of the economic scale. Amongst younger, less well-educated and especially less politically interested users, items belonging to the economic scale were barely coherent at all. "

I have a vague recollection of being told in history class, that there was a system of buying a job from someone who wanted to retire, euphemistically called "buying the tools".
Now I'm old enough to be interested in a possible early pension practice, I can find nothing about it.
I shall see if J can do the "buy a book for someone else trick".

Thank you.
Once again Amazon says I have no suitable devices, but if I click accept book it all works -shrug-
The bank has, at least twice, helpfully corrected the spelling of my middle name. This triggers a mismatch and my account is restricted, not frozen, so I find out when making a big payment.
They apologise and pay compensation after a day or two, but imagine that happening to your *official* ID.
I know that theory says all the data in one place, but I've found it useful to have a best of 3 system to work with.

03.10.2025 12:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think I'm coming round to the idea that if we have id cards, even if optional, they should be in-house. .gov already has passport and driving licence info and that seems to have minimal problems. Voter registration works really well.
What is the case for outsourcing?
I'd quite like to go back to usenet. My client handled threading really well.

Joke variations are not.
It was so creepy. It asked to speak to C, and when I gave it my standard, who's calling?, started addressing me by his name. That weird sales technique of using your name far too often.
I felt both pandered to and patronised at the same time.
Oh, I quite agree, no finger painting with cadmium pigments.
Long ago in the mists of time I worked in a metals lab. I don't think I ever worked with cadmium, but I used chromium salts often and they were treated very warily. There are chrome pigments, but I don't think they're still used.
That wouldn't worry me. With just that excerpt, I read it that the tubes of paint were being squeezed - no skin contact needed.
I was trying to bring to mind the name of the figure of speech where contents are referred to by the container name, but, now, I don't think it was actually relevant.

It is a very tiny kitchen though. It would only be about 4 sqm visible floor. Outrageous tiles might be doable.
Or gilding the oval office.
He may well think the public should appreciate his improvements.
