So just a progress update: I keep plugging away at trying to figure out how to create post-disability. But I can’t program the way I could and I’ve had to take a more permanent hiatus from Shadow Codex. Still creating something, but also just trying to figure out how to live and function.

I'm really struggling with managing everything. I can take enough pain meds to be able to do PT and go on walks and start getting healthy, but I mentally feel locked out of the rest of the day...

This is a long way of saying I may need to push back some deadlines...

God, to be a cat and not follow the news. I've been trying really hard to stay positive while being a trans mom in the states.

The level of quality of the 3DS modding guide at 3ds.hacks.guide is phenomenal! It identified that I had a modded 3DS from 8 years ago with a bunch of outdated mods, walked me through fixes in extremely clear language, and got my system back running. Astonishingly high quality technical writing.

It feels really good to know that, worst case scenario, my bug out bag has an e-reader full of trashy sapphic romance novels, and a power brick that could power her for millions of pages.

@unormal.bsky.social Are you okay with people copying the CoQ Discord code of conduct as the basis of other codes of discord codes of conduct? Like, there will be some changes based on what is relevant, but it's such a well written starting point.

Shadow Codex is that light for me. Something I can work towards in these one hour periods each day as I practice techniques to manage pain, manage controlling my body differently as I work.

Because, going off pain meds, with the goal of being able to work, and realizing I still can only pull off an hour a day, was very disheartening. I'm hoping I can bring that number up. That I can eventually get a job again. That I can go back to my job. All that gloom — I need some light to look to.

Life just has been very unstable the past year. I haven't had a month where things just stayed stable. But since that seems to be the norm now, I want to have this thing I'm excited about to be public, and to be something I'm working towards. I want to have something to look forward to.

My goal is to just have those one productive hour. Keep working through Physical therapy. Keep working with the pain doctors. Keep trying new treatments.

Disability may end up pushing back the release date another year. But at the current pace, June 2025 Demo and October 2025 Release seems doable.
