Today on Dice Exploder we kick off 4 episodes hosted by @helloalexroberts.bsky.social and @sharangbiswas.bsky.social on love, sex, and romance in ttrpgs! In this first one, they do a bit of an overview and then dig into sex moves from Apocalypse World and Monsterhearts.

Can't remember who said it, I have a suspicion I first heard it quoted on RTFM, and I'm gonna butcher the exact line, but:

I'm cutting this series and sourcing the games Alex and Sharang talked about while recording just a few weeks ago, and already many of them are just unsourceable after being taken down from itch. That loss of history starts immediately.

Totally. I think Electric Bastionland matched AW in terms of playbooks, but Mythic escalates to something neither EB nor AW had with Myths and their campaign arcs + full on scene suggestions.

Specifically I wanna do back to back episodes on "Doskvol's lightning barriers" and MB Myths as different angles on approaching fictional canon. Maybe you stick "the psychic maelstrom" in there too as a third point of comparison.

I want to cover it on DE, I think it has a remarkable amount of (again complimentary) overlap with Apocalypse World in really compelling ways.

Okay so in Superman, that big wall of cubes Lex was keeping people prisoner in, where do we think those people were pooping?

So imo, keeping in mind that I've got very limited experience here, I'd see if there was a like "Extraordinary mini version" you could do. Even if it ends up as a zine where you assume people buying it already know how to play BoB/NDNM style games or something, building on your first ks seems smart.

But in your case I think there's some argument for a soft cover Extraordinary, or otherwise slimmed down version, since you got a bunch of interest in your initial ks and presumably a lot of those people would follow you to a second outing, making marketing an easier lift.

My instinct is the smaller the better, especially if part of the goal is to learn how the process works and get familiar with it. There's a reason so many folks got started with old school Zinequest - very manageable and solid size.

I'll echo other folks in this thread, but I also know some folks (particularly international folks) who've been waiting on payouts since early 2025. I remember a month+ ago I believe they even put out a statement about how they were working through a backlog of payments to process.

The most amount of fame anyone should have is the level where your friends can still ensure your wikipedia picture looks good and is maybe a little silly.

I hope one day I get to make a movie as good as Addams Family Values, the best movie on this list of great movies.
