There is such a malicious game of telephone being played with the Telegraph’s M&S ‘trans’ shop assistant story. It’s gone from the anonymous complaint claiming the person was trans because they were tall to versions — notably in The Sun — falsely suggesting the person offered a bra fitting.

Given that the UK remains, despite everything, a major international player in the worlds of arts, broadcasting, music, cinema and sport, how can we continue to have such fucking awful, clueless DCMS secretaries of state?
